About me

I'm Hazel Edwards, founder of The Careers Consultant. I provide coaching, consultancy and training for organisations and individuals who want practical support with people, leadership and career development.

My background spans senior leadership, careers guidance, adult learning and people development, so I understand the pressures organisations face as well as what it feels like for individuals trying to move forward with more clarity and confidence.

My approach

I work in a practical, supportive way — listening first, tailoring support to the person or organisation in front of me, and focusing on progress that feels realistic and sustainable.

My approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed. I build on what is already working well and create space where people feel heard, supported and able to contribute, learn and grow.

My mission & values

To help leaders develop their people, strengthen leadership capability and improve organisational effectiveness through coaching-led consultancy and workforce development — so they can build stronger teams, healthier cultures and better outcomes.

Six principles shape every piece of work:

  • Listen first
  • Act ethically
  • Make support meaningful
  • Be authentic
  • Use influence responsibly
  • Keep improving

My experience & qualifications

With 25 years' experience, I work mainly with charities, social enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, training organisations and other people-focused employers, as well as individuals seeking coaching support.

  • Level 6 Careers Guidance and Development
  • Level 5 ILM Diploma in Leadership and Management
  • Level 4 Teaching and Learning
  • Level 3 safeguarding (adults and children)
  • Current DBS

Based in Gloucestershire, working online and in person across the UK.
